FAC got a txt and it says “come over for dinner at 7pm sharp…you know where”
It’s 6:59 and FAC is standing at the door, she was about to ring the bell when she noticed a note stating that it was open…as she’s walking in, rose petals are falling down from the ceiling…and a voice came on
“FAC, clearly this is new for me
I get so excited when you're here,
Rest assure there are no games
you’re all I see and I want to explore this,
I think we got something special going
so bear with me”
By this time, FAC is speechless. This is not the dinner she expected but then again even though this guy had some issues yet he was unique. He was his own man. He did everything his way and he is so detail oriented. She liked that about him. He was always on point.
He’s standing there with a bouquet of red roses. The candles had been lit. Wine had been poured. He whispered a few things in her ears and then he served her the meal. It was her favorite meal. Once again, she’s shocked, she didn’t think he would remember but like I said before this cat is listening even when he appears like he isn’t. His kindness deserved another kiss, so she planted a wet one on him.
He ended up apologizing for the way things turned out with her friends a couple of weeks ago. They discussed the matter and many more while dining and with each passing second they became a lot more into each other. For one, they couldn’t keep their hands off each other; she spent the entire night blushing and playing footsie.
So three questions came up during their conversation: 1) how do they integrate their friends into their relationship without jeopardizing what they’re trying to build? 2) is group outings important when one is trying to get their friends to acquaint with their mate? 3) How do they go about setting up the next group outing?
FAC is a bit reserved when it comes to sharing her feelings but when asked why she hung out with these ghetto girls, her response was very simple: they’re my childhood friends and no matter how corporate I am, I cannot ignore them and act like those booji women out there. They ended up agreeing on that because sometimes it’s hard to dismiss those you grew up with regardless of your success level. The thing is, just because you have somewhat ‘arrived’ it doesn’t mean you have to forget your old ‘hood’. At the end of the day, those people you grew up with will always have your back regardless if you’re on top or not.
They agreed to disagree but one thing that they were able to conclude is that, there’s a limit to everything. Whether it’s the way one dress, social behavior, or just the way one expresses oneself. I ended up suggesting that we should invite our friends to a pool/barbecue party to make things official. And it would be our closest friends, which would give us a way to have small chats, play group games and have some fun. And in the process get to know each other a bit more.
It was getting late and they both were tired by not, so he went in the restroom to take a quick shower, before he could come out, she joined him in there…
To be continued…

*What's That Growling Noise?*
The WORD wonders. That growling noise could be his stomach. Maybe it’s the
backhoe digging up the front yard. Or, more like...

oh my damn, i love this piece so much. Again, there was communication and you got to learn why she's friends with the people you met. I never liked when people say show me your friends and i'll tell you who you are, this just proved that we are not like our friends, we may have friends that are guetto or rude but it doesnt mean that they refflect on us; we are our own person and should not turn our back on our friends or neighborhood just because we have make a different life for ourselves. I like the romance, i just wish there was a bit more detail but i'll have to wait for part 7.

Bravo Baby, very nice, i love it well put together and very different from the other chapters.it's nice how you guys communicate and get some issues out of the way, it will help the relationship a lot in the long run. the romance is hot ( more details). i think chapter 7 will be my favorite lol. keep it up babe . bisous
ReplyDeleteVery nice develoment between the two characters. I can't wait to read about the get together between friends.
ReplyDeleteThe reason true love fails to develop between most couple is that they fail to be authentic with their true feelings the way these two have been.
Very nice!

ReplyDeleteI think a lot of people feel so anew after receiving that Diploma or after they have achieved something monumental so therefore everyone should automatically place them on this pedestal.
I grew up in the same block as Steve Francis and I recalled when he was getting all the attention from the media and how he would be the #1 draft pick in the NBA, this cat would always come around the block and act as if he was still one of the hommies. When in fact he had a 40 million dollar contract with Reebok and many other endorsements. See, hommies like Steve (who made it a priority to seek me out whenever he came to town) believed from the get-go that he would get to the next level if he believed and practiced hard. So forgetting his true hommies was never part of his equation.
There are a lot of people in our community who act like just because they're a doctor or lawyer then they're entitled to be booji when in fact these 'boat ass' motherfuckers don't belong in that league. I cannot stand that ish.

ReplyDeleteSak fe w cho konsa? Let the characters breathe woman. Y'all will get what y'all waiting for. lol.
The reason love fails to develop between most couple is that they fail to be authentic with their true feelings
ReplyDeletekite M cho non, cho is good sometimes, how about you put chapter 7 up lol, i'll wait Mr. Blake
ReplyDeleteAre you alright B? The comment doesn't seem to match the the story? I was expecting to read something softer and more romantic from the author.
ReplyDeleteI have been called boojie a few times and usually it is from folks who do not know me at all. Being boojie is in the eye of the beholder. Having gone to an all girl private school people automatically assume I was boojie or because of my profession people assume that, but its usually because of their own complexes. It is unfortunate that we human brings judge each other so much whether it's calling each other ghetto or boojie. If only we would take the time to look in each other's eyes, we would see each other's soul and realize that we are not that different from each other.
Let's get back to the romance of the story now shall we. I am sure the friends of the male character are probably as boojie as he was. Part VII, boojieness vs ghettoness, after the lovemaking of course lol. If you ask me, we all have a little boojie and a little ghetto in us depending on the occasion. Usually we hate most in others what we hate most about ourselves.
By the way, it is very boojie when another Haitian calls another Haitian boat. That proves my point actually lol while condoning being boojie, you managed to be boojie lol it's not your fault though lol
ok, i said i wasn't going to answer but i have nothing better to do tonight. Here we go:
ReplyDeleteAlthough FAC loves the story, i wasn't so thrilled. lol. kom ou dim ke mwen pa pale Angle se panyol mwen pale mwen pral eseye we sim te ka analize istwa-w yo nan ti Angle kem konnin an.
Beaute Creole I, II, III, IV, V, all was written in the first person perspective while entry VI was in a form of a narration. i liked 1-5 better than 6. i think when a story is written in a first person it holds more credibility. they seemed more real. you are experiencing all the actions first hand. you can feel the author's pain, emotions etc... when a narrator tells the story, you are getting it from his perspective. i didn't like the twist. i've read some good ones i wasn't too crazy about this one. the romance also seemed unrealistic (petals falling from the ceiling?)
i think you raised some great points when explaining the reasons why she has these friends but like the anonymous reader said, you contradict yourself big time when you call people "boat ass" motherfuckers.
oh i forgot something. what does official mean in this context? why did you have to use a narrator to talk about it being official or to make it official? i rather you stay on the spotlight by using the first person's perspective.
