The best way to start this off is to think back to my main man Descartes and I know many of you have heard of this before “I think, therefore, I am”. So what is the purpose to anything in life? When I asked my mother she said, ‘know, love and serve God”. Sounds simple doesn’t it. Well, I am sure it is not that simple, simply because in order to delve into these things you must uncover the different layers.
I am at the point in my life where my focus is at an all time high. I mean, I didn’t just wake up one day and had everything clicking. It’s just that over the past few years I have grown mentally and that has allowed me to deal with a lot of things. As my two lady friends would tell you, I have been through a lot and I know for a fact that many dudes would have caved in by now. But I haven’t reached my full potential yet so I won’t leave this game of life alone just yet. God has always had a plan and he has always come through for me. So the belief that he won’t let me down has always kept me focus on the bigger prize.
The purpose of life is very confused these days. Money has taken top priority in everyday American life. What many of us have failed to realize is that success is not defined by financial status. There’s a lot more that goes into it. But like many other things in life, this question is personal and it changes from one individual to another. My purpose in life isn’t and will never be the person i am dating or the people i hang out with, etc. I think most people who ask someone else about the “purpose” of something, are either looking to share an opinion they already have about what that purpose is, or else are trying to discover how they might fit with, or find an answer to, a situation that has confused or hurt them, or both. I think many, if not most folks, who face such uncertainty or pain hope there are “answers” that might resolve their dilemma. Unfortunately, such answers are rarely found from others but can only be found from what makes sense to the individual.
One thing we must always keep in mind though, everything has a purpose. Every person, place, thing, idea and emotion has a purpose. The purpose of asking “What’s the purpose to anything in life” is to question whether or not everything has a purpose in life. We all know a hammer has a purpose, but can we apply the same two-plus-two logic to everything?
What is your purpose? Hope you can take some time to ask yourself that question. It surely will help you with your thought process.
ps: if you're one of those who take everything so literal, please get the fuck off my blog.

*What's That Growling Noise?*
The WORD wonders. That growling noise could be his stomach. Maybe it’s the
backhoe digging up the front yard. Or, more like...

Life is full of questions and the biggest question most people have is "what's their purpose in life". We've all gone through our individual trials and tribulations wondering why those things had to happen to us. I believe that everything happens for a reason. Even if that reason is just to gain our attention and keep us focused on the big picture. It's like putting a puzzle together, you have all these pieces but you don't know how they're all going to fit together to create the picture on the box. There's always that piece that stands out that doesn't look quite rite and doesn't seem like it should be apart of the puzzle at all. As we journey through life we may not understand at the time why circumstances, situations and even people have come into our live but they all have their place in the puzzle of our lives. It's all apart of some divine plan and we just have to be patient and let the pieces come together.

ReplyDeleteYou're so right about that Miss Shaun. I think sometimes we don't take control of things until we're at that crossroad. It's unfortunate that we allow things to get that far but then again, we probably wouldn't turn out to be the ppl that we have turned out to be, had we not gone through those things.
After the minor changes... LOL... Just wanted to add that everyone has his/her purpose to pretty much accomplish anything that they truly believe in. No matter what the purpose may be it’s their own motivation to keep them moving forward in life. For example if someone chooses to chase pussy that’s their purpose in life. That’s their goal to sleep with as many women as they want to or even man if that’s what they like.
ReplyDeleteMy mother likes to say, "With age comes understanding." As a child, I did not think I have a purpose in life, but as I got older I realized that I have a reason to be alive; I have a purpose in life. I do not know what my purpose is but I do know that I touch many lives through singing and giving advice to others. My friends call me "The stress reliever," maybe that is my purpose. When I sing, my audience enjoys the message through the beautiful lyrics. When I give someone an advice they come back and tell me that I am very wise and understanding. Whatever the purpose of my existence I feel blessed that I am able to do something productive for myself and the people in my entourage. When I pray, I ask God to guide me throughout my everyday life and to tell me my purpose in life. I may already have the answer and don't even know I do. Mama knows best, "With age comes understanding." Therefore, I am still in the process of learning what my purpose is in life.
